REFORMA statement on the Rescinding of DACA

REFORMA, The National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and Spanish Speakers would like to express support for the nearly 800,000 Dreamers recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). We appeal to Congress to pass legislation to resolve this human rights matter.

RNCVI Conference Cancelled

Dear Reformistas:

After much consideration and conversations with the RNC VI Steering Committee and conference hotel, we need to cancel RNC VI in San Juan Puerto Rico. The National Weather Service declared a Hurricane Watch over Puerto Rico from Tuesday to Thursday. Hurricane Irma is set to pass by the Island during these days. The local government cancelled school classes and work was cancelled for the public employees. This is the biggest travel day for attendees and your safety is our concern.

RNCVI Update Regarding Hurricane Irma

The REFORMA Conference Committee is closely monitoring the situation with Hurricane Irma in the Atlantic Ocean. As information becomes available, it will be shared on the conference website. There is currently no indication that the storm will directly hit Puerto Rico. The hotel is prepared with generators, a water system, and an emergency hurricane plan.
