This is a wonderful book and a sad book simultaneously.  The first
chapter, by New York Times reporter Nina Bernstein entitled “The Outlaw Generation” is about children whose parents have been deported; she uses terms such as “homegrown statelessness”.  She also points out the difficulty of reporting on this issue because of possible subsequent endangerment of immigrant families if reporters get too close.

Chapters 5 and 6 discuss “Immigration and the Economy”.  Barry Chiswick’s “Ten Top Myths and Fallacies Regarding  Immigration” is considerably less sympathetic than other essays.  This section has audience questions and responses from panelists.

Highly recommended for adults and young adults.
